Briefly about earthenware:
Handmade Danish blue clay and red clay. The earthenware
is being thrown and covered with slip made from died
pipe clay with red, green, white, brown or blue colours.
Afterwards the item are being decorated and dried for
about a week. After that they are being burned in an
electric oven at app. 1020 degrees.
Earthenware is
ovenware and can stand being washed up by machine.
However it tends to “such in” water on the raw surfaces
until the clay has been “saturated”. For this reason it
might be a good idea to let newly bought items dry after
they have been washed up.
